I caught myself smiling for no reason today
This seems to be happening more and more
I think it's because I have you in my life
You and that beautiful smile I adore.
There's so many things that I love about you
Your sense of humour is one
There's hardly a moment I'm not laughing
At you and your cheeky tongue.
I admire your carefree spirit
Your ability to always see the great
How eager you are to be the best you can
And how little you seem to hate.

And I know that you'll always catch me
On the days I begin to fall.
Every moment I have with you I cherish
Every kiss, every touch, every sound
Because I know how precious these memories are
When life really gets you down.
Have I told you how gorgeous your heart is?
The warmest heart I know
Every part of yourself you offer
Is wrapped up in a silky bow.
Not enough people appreciate this
Too many people have no idea
But I want you to know, I know its worth
And I hold what you give me so dear.
I promise to never abuse you
Or take for granted the things that you share

My Dark Place

There’s a dark place inside of me
A place that’s gloomy and things are hard to see.
When I’m scared I find myself there
But instead of comforting, it strips me bare.
You see, this place is only good for a while
Until the day you forget to smile.
It watches me sit on the floor in tears
Knowing full well I’m avoiding my fears.
But once you’re there, you close the door
And you visit its rooms more and more.
It makes you feel like you can’t walk away
Even though you really don’t want to stay.
An addictive song that catches your mind
Just not a tune that acts very kind.
But I sing along to its unfriendly hum
Because it’s easier to stay than run.
There’s a dark place inside of me
And every day I struggle to break myself free.

Sacred Place

I know a place where the water runs red

A place where emotions are born, dreams begin

And one’s soul rests

The most beautiful place in existence

Only occupied by truth and sincerity

Where jealousy and deceit not dare intrude

A place that nurtures passion

Grows it and nourishes it, and lets it go

Touching and changing all it encounters

A universal connection shared by all

So deceiving in its looks
The way the creases fall
