My Saving Soul

Lingering near the precipice
Playing close to the edge
I was near enough to falling
When you pulled me back again

You ushered me away from there
And took me by the hand
You showed me how to laugh
And taught me how to stand

You showed me the vast meadows
The ones filled with long green grass
We played there for hours
Until the light turned into dark

Then we walked along a golden road
Lit only by the moon and stars
Until we reached a ballroom
Where we danced both slow and fast

You wrapped me in your warmth
And I made a thoughtful wish
The wind was cool upon my cheek
Where you left your perfect kiss

My wish is still out there
One day I hope it comes true
The happiness you've brought me
I wished the same onto you.

For Luke, the one who brightens my day with the curl of his lips.
